Floordrobe & Chairdrobe Situations

Updated: Sep 4, 2022

We’ll give you the definition, but you know exactly what we’re talking about.

Floordrobe (noun): An untidy heap of discarded clothing left on the floor of a room.

Chairdrobe (noun):

The beauty of draping clothes on the chair is it’s so easy! Why does it seem that being organized takes so much extra work? With the right solutions in place to match your habits, it doesn’t have to require extra effort.

So for those clothes that can’t reside in the closet next to the clean clothes because you’ve worn them for a few hours but that are not ready for the hamper, we have a few ideas:

Wall or Over Door Hooks

There are so many hook options of course (see our Get Hooked post for the full rundown) and for this type of storage, a single or double hook will do.

Rod Hooks

These hooks hang on your existing closet rod and are not just good to store accessories but you can also hang shorts by the tab and t-shirts.

Ladders

Storage ladders are a great way to add a unique twist to your space. Of course they can be used to store towels, but the concept makes them great for folded garments as well.

Coat Racks

Coat racks require a bit of floor space, usually not too much, and can hold multiple garments or accessories.

For everything else you just don’t feel like hanging up or folding, at least spring for a basket or hamper- containing stuff really does create the illusion of tidy.
